Palm Grill Opens Gateway Branch

Melissa Cabel and her sons are in Gateway in Quezon City today, 18 October 2023, to open the first mall branch of the Palm Grill brand.  Led by Chef Miguel Cabel Moreno, the restaurant offers a one-of-a-kind experience as it is the first establishment in Luzon that serves authentic Southern Mindanao fare.

Undersecretary Myra Abubakar, Minadanao’s tourism chief, is also at the venue to extend her congratulations.

Armed with a rich culinary heritage, the Cabels’ love for food translated into the Palm Grill we know today. 

“The opening of Palm Grill’s Gateway branch is a happy occasion for us,” said Sigrid Salucop, the resident winemaker at Basi del Diablo. She added that the wine brand is thrilled for Palm Grill and Mindanao’s culinary delights entering the Luzon mainstream. 

“Mindanaoan food tells us about us,” Salucop, an Ilocana, expressed. “Palm Grill gives Filipinos a glimpse of how diverse the Philippines is and how our influences showcase a number of different stories and anecdotes from our rich history.” 

Basi del Diablo Wines’ Ambaristo and Virginia Blush are served in all Palm Grill branches.
